How Leaf Relief works.
Leaf Relief is a perforated aluminum cover, made with what Ply Gem calls Aluma-Perf technology, that lies flat on top of the gutter. Rain drops through the small holes, and leaves and twigs stay on top until a breeze carries them off. A flexible vinyl flap seals it against the roof edge, and it screws to the gutter along its whole length, so your shingles never get lifted. Leaf Relief used to carry the Alcoa name before it became part of Ply Gem.

What is Leaf Relief?
Leaf Relief is a gutter guard made by Ply Gem, and it used to carry the Alcoa name. It’s a perforated aluminum or copper cover that lies flat on top of the gutter and screws to it, with a flexible vinyl flap that seals against the roof edge.
What does the Leaf Relief warranty cover?
Ply Gem’s registered 25-year limited warranty covers manufacturing defects and chipping or blistering of the finish, and it promises the gutters won’t clog and overflow from leaves, twigs, needles or seeds. In areas with pine and other conifer trees, the downspout openings need to be at least 9 square inches. It can be transferred once with the house. Read the warranty (PDF).
Does Leaf Relief go under my shingles?
No. It mounts to the gutter with self-sealing screws along the whole length, so your shingles aren’t lifted and your roof warranty isn’t put at risk.
How much rain can Leaf Relief handle?
Ply Gem says it drains more than twice the highest hourly rainfall ever recorded, which is over 29 inches, based on 2011 testing by ATI.
How do leaves come off Leaf Relief?
They sit on top of the guard until the wind takes them. Ply Gem says dry debris clears in a breeze of about 6 mph and wet debris at about 23 mph. Leaves can collect in sheltered spots, so plan on an occasional check.
What gutters does Leaf Relief fit?
K-style and half-round gutters in 5- and 6-inch sizes, and it can be adjusted for 4-inch gutters. It comes in classic, half-round, zip and adjustable styles.
Does Leaf Relief come in copper?
Yes. It comes in aluminum or copper, so it can go on copper gutters too.
