How Leaf Sentry works.
Leaf Sentry is a hood of .024 aluminum that covers the gutter. Its rounded nose sticks out past the gutter lip, and rainwater clings to the curve and follows it into the gutter. Leaves and twigs can’t follow the water, so they slide off or dry out and blow away. A flex-bend seam with vertical slots slows heavy runoff and lets the panel fit the pitch of your roof.

What is Leaf Sentry?

What does the Leaf Sentry guarantee cover?
The manufacturer guarantees your gutters and downspouts will stay clog-free for their lifetime when Leaf Sentry is properly installed. The material warranty covers defects and promises the painted finish won’t crack or peel. The warranty has to be registered within 30 days of installation, and we can do that for you. How much rain can Leaf Sentry handle?
The manufacturer rates it for 14 or more inches of rain an hour. Steep roofs, metal roofs and valleys can get the High-Flow panel, which has vents for concentrated water.
Is Leaf Sentry nailed or screwed into my roof?
No. It slides under the first row of shingles and attaches to the gutter lip with stainless steel screws. Nothing goes into your roof or fascia.
Will Leaf Sentry work with my existing gutters?
Yes. It fits 5-, 6- and 7-inch gutters, new or existing. If your gutters are too worn, we can replace them with seamless gutters first.
What colors does Leaf Sentry come in?
16 colors: white, black, almond, bronze, clay, cream, dark bronze, green, ivory, linen, musket brown, pearl grey, royal brown, red, sand wicker and charcoal/tux grey, plus 12 oz copper by special order.
Will Leaf Sentry change how my house looks?
It’s low profile and sits under the first row of shingles, so it blends into the roofline and hides metal flashing. Matching it to your gutter color makes it even harder to notice.
Is Leaf Sentry maintenance-free?
Close, but not completely. Rain and a light breeze clear most leaves. If debris sticks to the front edge, a garden hose washes it off. In sheltered spots, like under overhangs on gently sloped roofs, debris can collect, so check those now and then.
Will Leaf Sentry prevent ice dams?
No guard prevents ice dams, because they come from poor attic insulation and ventilation. Leaf Sentry can cut down on ice building up in the gutter, which helps prevent split seams, loose hangers and gutters pulling away.
How much does Leaf Sentry cost?
It depends on how many feet of gutter you have and which panel your roof needs. We measure at your free estimate and give you a written proposal with a firm price.
